firefly

i walk into your headlights
they are bright and round like the full moon,
two harvest orbs,
let me step straight into them, let your light shower me,
and crush me, if its you at the wheel
before i'm at another waters edge without you,
howling at the sky again,
waiting for you to return my moonshine call,
walk me backwards,
stop me from straing at the satellite above us,
fixed still,
painted beside the stars,
as we move, both of us in opposite directions beneath it
walk me backwards as you drive forwards,
into my midnight,
sleepless
sand
footprints
cloudless night dream
i feel this in the daylight too
i feel you crushing me
or are we just sickly firefly,
flashlight forgotten,
night-time strangers
i'm giving up, its morning soon.
